Meet the Team: Jeta Jiranuntarat

Greetings! My name is Jeta Jiranuntarat, but you can also call me Non. I am an economics graduate from Thailand, a country with an abundance of nature and beauty, up until greed and mismanagement ran them to the ground. In my studies, I have always taken issue with the central assumption of economics that ‘humanity has unlimited wants and needs’, that human nature is that of greed, as it portrays selfishness and mistrust as the logical mindset and absolves any malicious actor of responsibility for their exploitation of fellow beings.

Contrary to what I was taught, my conception of humanity is that of ingenuity, collaboration, and connection; the foundation of society that gave humanity the power to have such an outsized impact on the world. In this time of dire need, I intend to rekindle the human spirit and harness its power to restore the bountiful nature of the world, a vision that I share with Human Nature Projects.

I am committing myself to form a nation-wide youth organization that directly engages with government and institutions to ensure good governance, with a strong focus on environmental and related policies that will affect ecosystems, biodiversity, and climate change. With the assistance of the 1000-strong and growing members worldwide of HNP, I believe that we can work together to transform Thailand and the world towards a sustainable future.
