Meet the Team: Leah Fouchong

National Director, Trinidad and Tobago

My name is Leah Fouchong and I am from the beautiful small island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. I have been a geography teacher at a girls’ college for the past twelve years.  I am passionate about tackling environmental issues to protect and preserve our environment, promoting an eco-conscious lifestyle and help to accomplish the sustainable development goals.

I am an avid advocate for environmental conservation and have founded the Facebook group Changemakers for the Environment. I’ve created the group to empower the public to learn, advocate and actively volunteer in environmental initiatives such as tree planting exercises and beach clean-ups in an effort to create positive environmental change.

My interest in Human Nature Projects stems from the fact that this organisation directly aligns itself to what I believe in and my passion for environmental change. I hope that my interest in this organisation will provide me with the necessary training and tools to help citizens in my country become environmental advocates and change their way of thinking and behaviour to a more eco-conscious lifestyle. This is in an effort for them to see the urgency and need to protect and preserve our environment and its resources for future generations.
